I have problems using four Lacie Big Disk [1] with firewire2 and usb2.
These disks seems to woork smoothly under MacOSX. I got a lot of errors
with USB2 and I decided to try firewire with a lacie pci PCI adaptator.
It work during days but last I have the same problems. The log shows
several lines like these:
Aug 3 16:09:38 chema kernel: I/O error: dev 08:31, sector 278139120
Aug 3 16:09:38 chema kernel: scsi3: ERROR on channel 0, id 1, lun 0,
CDB: 0x28 00 10 94 11 2f 00 00 f8 00
Aug 3 16:09:38 chema kernel: Current sd08:31: sns = 70 3
Aug 3 16:09:38 chema kernel: ASC=4b ASCQ= 0

0x00 0x00 0x0a 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x4b 0x00 0x00
An fsck returns a lot of:
(Attemp to read block from filesystem resulted in short read) while
doing inode scan.
And some Inode xxxx, i_blocks is XX, should be xx
